As the P&A Group marks its 40th year in business, its dedication to community support and the local environment remains as strong as ever. Reflecting this commitment, P&A and its divisions including The Woodworks Garden Centre & Café, P&A Pallets, and Zest Outdoor Living proudly sponsored the trophies for the Nightingale House Hospice 5k and 10k Run held at Alyn Waters on Saturday 5th April.

The event was a huge success, welcoming runners of all abilities to enjoy a scenic multi-terrain course while raising vital funds for the hospice’s patient care services.

Elise Jackson, Events and Campaigns Manager at Nightingale House Hospice, commented:
“The Alyn Waters 5k and 10k Run is more than just a run; it’s an opportunity for the community to come together, enjoy the beautiful surroundings and make a real difference.”

Founded in 1985, P&A Group has always taken pride in supporting charities and the wider community. Guided by its mission “to positively contribute to the communities in which we operate and be a responsible and sustainable organisation,” the team also took part in a litter-pick to help keep the area around the event clean and green.

Team members from The Woodworks Garden Centre, P&A Pallets, and Zest Outdoor Living were delighted to see the company involved in such a meaningful local initiative. This is not the first time P&A has supported the Hospice—previously, the Group sponsored a tile on the Nightingale House Hospice’s 25th Anniversary Hot Air Balloon, which has appeared at balloon festivals nationwide since 2021.

Steve Morgan, Chairman of P&A Group, attended the event and presented 12 trophies to the winning participants, alongside Alison Peters from GHP Legal, who sponsored and presented the medals. GHP Legal; Solicitors of Wrexham, Oswestry, and Llangollen – a multi-disciplinary law practice serving a client base stretching across more than 10 counties.

Steve Morgan said:
“We were delighted to be asked to sponsor this event and I was pleased to see how many runners took part. At P&A, we are passionate about promoting fitness, health, and wellbeing. We also recognise the outstanding work Nightingale House Hospice does in providing specialist palliative care services, and we’re proud to support their fundraising efforts.”

Adding a fun and festive touch to the day, the new Nightingale House mascot was on hand to cheer on runners and supporters alike.
